At least 19 members of the banned Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) have been detained, according to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, after they protested the Federal High Court’s decision regarding Sheikh Ibraheem El-International Zakzaky’s passport.
A federal high court in the nation’s capital previously denied Sheikh El-Request Zakzaky’s request for the Department of State Services, or DSS, to return his and his wife’s passports.
The court that rendered a decision in this case, Judge Obiora Egwuatu, determined that the Islamic cleric had failed to establish that his passport was lost.

In a statement, SP Josephine Adeh, the public relations officer for the FCT Command Police, claimed that the protest had inconvenienced the general public, particularly commuters.
She stated: “Police operatives were promptly deployed to the scene to help officers already on the ground monitoring the march after receiving distress calls from citizens concerned for their safety.” Members of the IMN began hurling stones, Molotov cocktails, and other deadly objects at the officers as soon as they spotted the reinforcement squad
