#AFRICA DAY: Create an environment that enables young Africans to thrive- BBDYI charges. 

BBYDI reiterated its commitment “to providing youths with the necessary resources, opportunities, and guidance to unlock their full potential.”

In commemorating Africa Day, the Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI) has charged the governments at the continent level to prioritize a thriving environment for young Africans.

 

The youth-led not-for-profit organization said this in a statement signed by its director of communications Sanni Alausa-Issa on Thursday, 25th of May, 2023 to commemorate Africa Day 2023. 

BBYDI reiterated its commitment “to providing youths with the necessary resources, opportunities, and guidance to unlock their full potential.”

“Through various programs and initiatives, we strive to foster leadership, promote critical thinking, and cultivate entrepreneurial spirit among African youth. By empowering young people, we aim to build a strong foundation for sustainable development and social progress across the continent.

The organization specifically call on the government to prioritize investments in youth development, increased access to quality education, and inclusive opportunities to support youth-led initiatives that can create a thriving environment for youths in other to foster the continent’s growth. 

“We call on governments, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector to prioritize investments in youth development. By increasing access to quality education, creating inclusive opportunities, and supporting youth-led initiatives, we can create an environment that enables young Africans to thrive and contribute to the continent’s growth.” the statement read in part.

 

“As we commemorate Africa Day, let us celebrate the diversity, resilience, and achievements of the African people. Let us recognize the immense potential that lies within our youth and commit to nurturing their talents and aspirations. Together, we can create a brighter future for Africa, where every young person has the opportunity to realize their dreams and make positive impacts.”

Africa Day is a yearly celebration of Africa’s cultural diversity and success that is celebrated every 25th day of May. It is first commemorated in 1963 and it is celebrated by all countries of Africa’s Union.
