A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between Kent State University in Ohio and Niger State University.

This agreement covers, among other things, scholarship programmes, executive and vocational education, and institutional capacity enhancement for educational institutions.

A Niger State-Kent State University Study Centre will also be built by the government in Minna.

For the purpose of enhancing educational opportunities, this centre will provide a forum for faculty and students to engage in academic and cultural exchanges.

According to Governor Mohammed Bago, the MoA represents a turning point in the effort to establish standards for education in Nigeria.

Bago invited the Nigeria-USA Chamber of Commerce to a different meeting in Kent, Ohio.

The chamber offered chances for cooperation with the government in agriculture, value chain improvement, exports, and mining.
