In his welcome address, the project lead Ahmed Adebowale said that the training is aimed at enhancing teachers’ ability to lead educational technology in this digital era.
“Teachers are irreplaceable in our world, and it is, therefore, important to empower teachers on the uses of technology for inclusive education”
“However, this training is not just about learning how to use new tools—it’s about unlocking your potential as educators to lead the way in this digital era. You’re not just teachers; you’re changemakers, and this session is designed to empower you to embrace that role with confidence.”

Speaking further, Ahmed explained that the teachers are now part of the global movement for educational Technology, especially in Subsaharan Africa where EdTech and Artificial Intelligence have been researched to be effective for inclusive education.
“AI-driven learning platforms can help keep students engaged—even during a crisis. The findings are being used worldwide to reimagine education systems, and today, you’re part of that transformation”
Concluding, Ahmed expressed optimism that the training is part of his organisation’s dreams of building a “legacy for inclusive education and empowerment. Together, we’re not just integrating technology into education; we’re building a legacy of inclusivity and empowerment.”

According to Issah Sikiru, an assistant lecturer at the Kwara State Univerisity, and one of the speakers at the event, Artificial intelligence is not here to take away the work of the teachers, but as an avenue to make their work more effective.
“No matter how productive Artificial Intelligence can be, it can not be as effective as when it is being manipulated by humans who are knowledgeable about it”
Sikiru’s position was reiterated by Halifat Balogun, Programmes Lead at Pristine SACC Education Technology Initiative who facilitated a session on ‘Tools and Techniques for 21st Century Classrooms.

According to Halifat, knowing digital and AI tools for an effective classroom experience will enhance students’ learning experience.
“Education is not only about classroom impact anymore, but it is also about building skills and it begins with how much of the tech tools the teacher can use”
For Mr Olalere Aboki, an Educational Technology graduate and a Certified Customer Support Specialist who spoke on EdTech tools and modern technologies for Educators to drive students’ success said that the burden of “EdTech is not only about the teachers and learners alone but also about the educational system itself.”
He further said “A key aspect of EdTech is its ability to support individualised and personalised learning.
Speaking about the Impact of AI and Technology on the Learning Experience, Abideen Olasupo, the Global Director of Brain Builders Youth Development Initiatives, said that it would be difficult to get the future of any nation right if such a nation lost sight of the importance of Artificial intelligence.
