Dr. Ayodele Joseph, the chief medical director of Ayodele Hospital in Ilorin, is accused of sexually assaulting a nurse who visited his facility in Sawmill Area, Ilorin, Kwara State, for medical attention.
According to the police report, the defendant, Joseph, sedated the patient, a licensed nurse, before engaging in sexual activity with her against her will.
The nurse reportedly went to the hospital for medical care when the doctor, who allegedly had 27 years of experience in the medical field, preyed on her while she was sedated.
However, an investigation into the matter resulted in the recovery of a video recording that showed the defendant engaging in sexual activity with the victim, and a medical examination also revealed that the nurse in question had been raped and assaulted.
The government prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, advised the seriousness of the offence and the motion ex parte attached to the police report seeking the remand of Joseph in the correctional centre.
The case’s magistrate, Jumoke Kamson, granted Ayeni’s request for remand and postponed the hearing until this coming Sunday, the 18th.
