The Paramount Traditional Ruler of Igede Kingdom, HRH Retired Oga Ero, all the sons and daughters of Igede nation, as well as residents of Benue South, have received condolences from Comrade Daniel Onjeh, the 2023 senatorial candidate under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Benue South. Onah died tragically in an auto accident in Abuja on April 1, 2023.
Onjeh added that he and Onah remained dependable political allies up until the conclusion of the 2015 general elections, at which point Onah decided to step away from partisan politics to concentrate on his legal career. He eventually rose to the position of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2022.
Onjeh praised Onah for creating history by becoming the first SAN of Igede ancestry and the seventh overall in Benue State.
Onah was brutally cut off in his prime, Onjeh said, at a time when his extensive knowledge, perceptiveness, experience, and sound judgment were desperately needed to advance both the cause of humanity in general and the legal profession in Nigeria. Onjeh called Onah’s death very unfortunate and devastating.
Less than six months after I wrote to him to congratulate him on reaching the status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, it is very distressing for me to be writing a message of sorrow for Barrister Onah at this time, the statement read.
In his eloquent defense of justice, equity, and human rights, Onah made enormous sacrifices and left a lasting impression, according to Onjeh. He was also a light of peace and progress in Igede territory and throughout the entire Benue South.
Onah would be cherished and remembered for his generosity, piety, humility, and bravery, the statement continued.
In particular, Onjeh expressed his condolences to the residents of the late Barrister Onah’s hometown of Oju Local Government, as well as to Onah’s immediate family and numerous colleagues, on behalf of his family and political allies.

The decision to outlaw social gatherings associated with the violence in the Sabon Garin-Tirkaniya region was made after a careful assessment of the security situation by the military, police, and Department of State Services, as well as a sudden meeting with local traditional and religious leaders at the 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna. This shows that the Kaduna State Government is taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
