Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang has presented a budget proposal of over four hundred and seventy-one billion naira to the state House of Assembly on Monday, November 25.
Mutfwang assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill in his office at the Rayfield Government House in Jos, the state capital which is titled “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability,” along with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework/Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP) 2025–2027.
During the presentation, Governor Mutfwang noted that, “The MTEF/FSP establishes a three-year fiscal plan and serves as the basis for the formulation of the 2025 budget. It details the macroeconomic and fiscal framework for the years 2025–2027 which adheres to Section 16(1) and (2) of the Plateau State Fiscal Responsibility Law of 2014.

“It guarantees that resources are allocated effectively to priority sectors, representing a conscious effort to enhance transparency and accountability in accordance with global best practices.”
While presenting the budget, the Governor said that despite economic challenges being faced, the administration is determined to ensure that it executes projects that will impact the citizens of the state.
Mutfwang further appealed to members of the house to give the budget a quick consideration to enable the government to do its work effectively.
The speaker of the state assembly, Gabriel Dewan, assured the state government of their cooperation and added that the house will do a thorough job to ensure that people of the state get the dividends of democracy.
