“There’ll be a lustrous transition”, Ortom to Benue Governor-Elect”

Ortom visited the Governor-elect at his Makurdi residence to deliver his letter, and he was represented by Prof. Anthony Ijohor, Secretary to the State Government, and Chairman of the Transition Committee.

On Monday, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom invited the state’s incoming governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, to name delegates to the transition committee established by the state government.

Ortom visited the Governor-elect at his Makurdi residence to deliver his letter, and he was represented by Prof. Anthony Ijohor, Secretary to the State Government, and Chairman of the Transition Committee.

He also promised a lustrous transition to the next administration on May 29, 2023, to the governor-elect.

The Governor-elect, Fr. Alia, thanked Ortom for congratulating him in his brief remarks and formally invited him to join the State Transition Committee in advance of the May 29 handover.

In response to the incumbent governor’s request, Alia promised that he would name a few members of his team to the Transition Committee in the coming days.

The State Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Veronica Onyeke, and the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Saawuan Tarnongu, were also members of the Governor’s delegation.
