58 soldiers from different Nigerian Army (NA) units were chosen, and they were given cash gifts and brand-new bicycles in Jos, Plateau.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Abdulsalam Bagudu Ibrahim, delivered the speech at Headquarters 3 Division Auditorium in Jos.
The GOC claimed that the gifts were given in appreciation for the soldiers’ labour of love, devotion to duty, and good behaviour.
General Ibrahim stated that the initiative was a part of his vision to reward effort and dedication to duty as well as serve as a means of inspiring other Cantonment employees to be more committed to their work.
He disclosed that the recipients’ achievement was not solely the result of hard work, but also of hard work, character, and results.
He cautioned the soldiers not to be found wanting because anyone found to be disobedient and engaging in misconduct would face the proper consequences.
Brigadier General David Kurmi, Chief of Staff Headquarters 3 Division NA, had earlier thanked the GOC for prioritising the welfare of the troops and their families in the cantonment.
In order to inspire others to strive for similar accomplishments, he urged commanders at all levels to choose recipients of such gifts in an objective manner.
He urged the recipient to uphold the required level of discipline and focus more of their energy on helping the nation.
