Police Presents Compensation Cheques To Families Of Deceased Officers In Kogi

The presentation ceremony, held at the command headquarters in Lokoja, was presided over by the Commissioner of Police in the State, Bethrand Onuoha, acting on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The Kogi State Police Command disburses compensation cheques of over 39 Million to twenty-five families of deceased officers and accident victims, underscoring the force’s commitment to honouring their sacrifices and supporting their loved ones.

 

The presentation ceremony, held at the command headquarters in Lokoja, was presided over by the Commissioner of Police in the State, Bethrand Onuoha, acting on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

 

The gesture, which underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of its personnel and their families, was conducted with solemn reverence for the sacrifices made by officers in the line of duty.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Kogi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, emphasized the significance of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes in providing financial support to the bereaved families and injured officers.

“The presentation of these cheques is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to honour the memory of our fallen heroes and support their families during their time of need,” stated SP Aya.

He reiterated that the compensation is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of police officers and their families, thereby fostering a culture of dedication and loyalty among serving personnel.

Commissioner Bethrand Onuoha, in his address during the ceremony, expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and reiterated the police force’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by the deceased officers and accident victims.

He underscored the importance of recognizing and honouring the selfless service rendered by law enforcement officers in safeguarding the nation’s security and stability. “The Nigeria Police Force recognizes the sacrifices made by the deceased officers, as well as those who are accident victims, to secure the nation,” remarked Commissioner Onuoha.

 

He emphasized the need for continuous support and appreciation for police officers in active service, affirming that such gestures bolster morale and encourage diligence among personnel.
