The Claim
A Facebook page “Akume Akume fans page” has claimed that the Nigerian Benue Born Chef Tartenger Victor, also known as Chef Naira Victor, who attempted to break the longest cooking marathon by an individual has been confirmed by Guinness World Record.
The post has generated two thousand likes, six hundred and twenty comments, and fifty shares as at the time of this report.
Chef Naira Victor
Tartenger Victor also known as Chef Naira is a Benue-Born Delta base chef. Victor hails from Konshisha Local government area of Benue State.
In his attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours by an individual, Victor opted for a 135 hour cooking marathon in Makurdi, the Benue state capital on February 27th until March, 3rd, 2024.
Our Checks
In order to verify the claim, first the researcher visited the official X page of GWR; it was gathered that such an announcement had not been made by the organization.
Also, a search through the Facebook page of the organization shows that no announcement related to the record-breaking attempt has been made.
A search through the Facebook page of Chef Naira showed that he has not made any announcement relating to him being confirmed as the current holder of the record for the longest-cooking marathon by an individual.
The researcher further searched through the website of GWR, according to the website the current holder of the record is Alan Fisher from Ireland
“The longest cooking marathon (individual) is 119 hr 57 min 16 sec and was achieved by Alan Fisher (Ireland) in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023“.
After carrying out a Google keyword search the researcher discovered that no News platform has reported the confirmation of Chef Naira as the current holder of the record as claimed

After analyzing all available records, the claim stating that GWR has confirmed Benue-born Chef Tartenger Victor as the current holder of the longest cooking marathon for an individual is FALSE.
