KDSG Debars Social Gatherings in Its Three Communities, Here is Why

The decision to outlaw social gatherings associated with the violence in the Sabon Garin-Tirkaniya region was made after a careful assessment of the security situation by the military, police, and Department of State Services, as well as a sudden meeting with local traditional and religious leaders at the 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna. Social gatherings associated with the violence from Sunday night and Monday in the Sabon Garin-Tirkaniya region of the Chikun LGA, which resulted in the deaths of two people and the injuries of six others, have been outlawed by the Kaduna State Government.

This was announced in a statement released on Monday by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs.

The decision was made, according to the Commissioner, following a careful assessment of the security situation by the military, police, and Department of State Services, as well as a sudden meeting with local traditional and religious leaders at the 312 Artillery Regiment Kaduna.

The following social activities that are currently prohibited with immediate effect in the neighborhood are listed: -Hunting expeditions -Kidan Gala -Kidan Bishi

Also, the government has ordered the detention of anyone connected to the sale of hard narcotics in Nasarawa and Sabon Garin Nasarawa.

“Moreover, three people have also been detained in connection with the violence.” In addition to the two civilians who were killed, six other people were hurt and are currently undergoing medical care. Several cars and buildings were also destroyed, he said.

The Commissioner reported that Governor Nasir El-Rufai praised the quick response of the military and police in halting the violence’s spread outside of the immediate region.

He claims that by promising a thorough investigation, the governor allayed the concerns of the families who had lost loved ones.
