The State Executive Council has been disbanded in preparation for the May 29 handover by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

At a farewell service held at the Government House in Ilorin on Tuesday, AbdulRazaq announced the dissolution of his cabinet. He claimed the action was required to allow the transition committee to get the ground ready for the inauguration.

The governor said that the majority of the Council members would be taken into consideration in the upcoming administration when he resumes his second tenure. He thanked them for their contributions to the administration’s success over the past four years.

The state’s commissioner for local government, chieftaincy affairs, and community development, Aliyu Kora Sabi, spoke on behalf of his coworkers and thanked the governor and the state’s residents for the opportunity to serve.
